Graduate Engineer
- Lead technical assessment of VFRT compliance studies for wind and solar projects connecting to the Irish distribution network.
- Review consultant submissions against Irish Distribution Code requirements, identifying modelling deficiencies, missing fault scenarios and non-compliant plant behaviour.
- Assess RoCoF, reactive power capability, harmonics, voltage fluctuation and flicker, MSS, unbalanced fault and derogation studies.
- Develop technical expertise in inverter-based resource performance including fault ride-through, reactive current injection, active power recovery, system strength impacts and power quality compliance.
- Contributed to the development and revision of EirGrid's VFRT assessment methodology, guidance and template documentation used for renewable generation compliance assessments.
- Initiated structured RoCoF assessment templates and review methodologies and supported expansion of compliance review processes into reactive capability and frequency studies.
- Coordinate technical engagement with ESB Networks, renewable developers, consultants, commissioning teams and senior engineers to resolve compliance issues and progress generator connections.
- Apply DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSS®E to dynamic RMS simulation review, renewable generator modelling and power system study assessment.
